Dr Tim Lynch, who joined us recently from his previous post at Monash University in Australia, writes about a game played by children across the globe - dodgeball (or 'poison ball') and how it can be used with trainee teachers as a way of determining the quality of games in physical education. Tim shows how what is considered a risky and potentially dangerous game can be adapted to a safer, quality learning experience. This is innovation in pedagogy - using existing and familiar contexts, to revise and modify as great learning experiences. It's good to have Tim as a member of our great team of educators.
